The UCSD Phonetics Lab The UCSD Phonetics lab operates under the direction of Prof. Amalia Arvaniti. The lab provides resources for acoustic, physiological and perceptual research in all areas of phonetics and phonology. Current research projects in the lab include the production and perception of [t] epenthesis in English, the role of focus in Greek intonation, and the acquisition of English consonant clusters by L2 learners. Postdoctoral Fellowship
The two-year Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship in Linguistics at Northwestern University was awarded to UCSD Linguistics graduate student Hannah Rohde. Congratulations, Hannah!
Dissertation Defense
Congratulations to Nayoung Kwon, who recently defended her thesis titled "Processing of long-distance syntactic and referential gap-filler dependencies: Evidence from reading time, ERP and eye-tracking data in Korean." Next year Nayoung will be a postdoctoral researcher at Harvard and a lecturer at Wellesley College.
